  • Acronym: ∆8-THC
  • Class: delta_8_thc
  • Formula: C21H30O2

Description

Similar to Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol (popularly known as ∆9-THC, or THC) we can also find this other phytocannabinoid in the cannabis plant, the Delta-8-THC. This, like Delta-9-THC, is a psychoactive substance with psychotropic effects. Delta-8-THC is found in a significantly lower proportion in the plant than Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol as it is generated by the oxidation of the latter.

Delta-8-Tetrahydrocannabinol is also obtained after decarboxylation (natural or induced) of its precursor, Delta-8-Tetrahydrocannabinolic acid.
